a good amount of time ago now, i found myself amongst a wave of creatives in chicago that would lead many of us to careers pursuing / in service to artistic efforts

i’ve spent just about every day since working alongside artists and the teams that support them - gaining a deep appreciation for all it takes to bring great work to an ever-evolving world

the composition at the top of this page abstractly represents all the projects + all the different roles that make up my experience to date

the focus of the work ahead of me centers around expanding this - continuing to design solutions to improve experiences for all involved who bring art to life !

haight / nice work

2012

An artist services company based in Chicago, Nice Work [f.k.a Haight] was first launched in service of the rapidly rising, and notably independent, career of Chance The Rapper. Our team formed the foundation that would support Chance in redefining norms within the music industry; developing in-house teams to cover responsibilities across merchandise, marketing, press, touring, radio and more. We would go on to build a management team around acts such as Clairo, Aluna, Ravyn Lenae, DAISY WORLD, Knox Fortune & The O’My’s, among others, and extend additional services for projects with Daniel Caesar, Zedd, Jessie Reyez, 99 Neighbors, Mon Rovia & Noname to name a few.

These Days Magazine

2015

These Days is a music publication dedicated to documenting a decade of Chicago’s creative community. In 2015, I saw a shortage of coverage of the scene that paved the way for me to have a career in music. By then my own professional responsibilities had limited my capacity to cover the city’s artists to the depth they deserved so I gathered a group of friends, writers & photographers to pool our efforts. In the years since the project has become a vital part of Chicago’s music landscape. Currently our volunteer based team consists of 20+ contributors across a variety of creative and professional disciplines. With two years left to go, the project has conducted 250+ photoshoots & interviews with rising artists and scores of shows around the city.

building blocks

2022

Building Blocks is a project dedicated to creating clarity where there is confusion within the music industry. I have always made it a point to field the inquiries that come my way from those who are facing a hurdle or are looking for perspective that will help them navigate their careers. These conversations so often revealed recurring themes of people feeling lost, frustrated or confused at the state of things within the space. In an effort to more effectively share the insights that I saw alleviate these initial feelings, I began to host monthly meet ups that brought together rotating combinations of artists, managers, music writers, label staff & more to provide an open forum of discussion. While it’s still in it’s early stages, the results have been rewarding so far.
